Start Where You Are, With What You Have

The last few months have been a whirlwind—filled with uncertainties, but also, unexpected blessings. Back in April, I decided I was going to travel full-time. I had this vision of packing my bags, leaving everything behind, and hitting the road. That’s how I’ve always approached life—make a decision, and then do it. Simple, right?

Well, not this time.

Life had other plans. I’ve found myself having to start over—not for the first time, but this one feels different. In the past, I’ve always been able to pick myself up and just go, but now, starting over feels like more than just a fresh start—it feels like a journey within itself.

When Life Forces You to Pause

Since April, I haven’t had a steady income. And yet, here I am, surviving on faith, an overdrafted bank account, and moments of “figuring it out” as I go. It’s a strange place to be, but it’s been beautiful too. For the first time in ages, I’m learning to pause—to just be. When was the last time I enjoyed a quiet afternoon with a hot chocolate and cookies, simply watching the world go by, no phone in hand?

This pause has brought a kind of self-discovery that I didn’t expect. It’s made me realise how much I’ve sacrificed in pursuit of entrepreneurship. I’ve been so caught up in building a business that I forgot how much I loved living—truly living. And now I’m questioning: Am I still that person who thrives on constant hustle? Or is it okay to step back for a while and just live simply?

Redefining Success: Is It Okay to Go Back?

Part of me wonders if going back to the basics—finding a few freelance clients and leaving the constant grind of branding, discovery calls, and scaling—makes me a failure. After all, I’ve built something that was bringing in consistent income, and now… well, now, I’m figuring out how to get by. But you know what? I’m okay with that. If I can survive on nothing right now, I’ll figure out the rest when the time comes.

The Dream Still Lives On

One thing is for sure—I still want to travel full-time. I’m not giving up on that dream. But instead of rushing to “get there,” I’m going to enjoy the journey, every stop along the way. This moment of rebuilding isn’t just about financial stability; it’s about redefining what success means to me, about finding joy and purpose beyond entrepreneurship.

Welcome to My Transition to Full-Time Travel

So, this is me, inviting you to join me on this adventure as I rebuild—slowly, strategically, and intentionally. I’m reaffirming my identity outside of being an entrepreneur, and diving deep into real, immersive travel.

Through my new blog series, “My Transition to Full-Time Travel,” I’ll be sharing everything—from travel tips to personal stories about what it really takes to chase a dream while navigating life’s challenges.

This series will also explore how I’m balancing financial realities (like debt and starting over) with my dream of living a life filled with travel, freedom, and self-fulfilment. It’s going to be raw, real, and hopefully, inspiring.

Right now, I’m in Colombia, volunteering through Workaway in exchange for accommodation. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real. And this is where my journey to full-time travel truly begins.

What You Can Expect

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing posts that dive into:

  • The lessons I’m learning through slow travel and work exchanges
  • Budget-friendly travel tips for those who are paying off debt
  • How volunteering abroad is teaching me more than any job ever could
  • Honest reflections on the emotional ups and downs of starting over
  • And how living with less has helped me grow so much more.

Whether you’re dreaming of full-time travel, balancing your own financial challenges, or simply seeking a more intentional, purpose-driven life, I hope this series offers you practical tips, relatable stories, and a sense of connection.

Let’s Journey Together
